Dr. Daphne Brown completed her Bachelors Degree in Physical Education at UBC in 1992 and then attended Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon to earn her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Since that time she has focused much of her continuing education on sports chiropractic topics.
Dr. Brown moved to Salmon Arm with her husband in 1996 and started a Chiropractic clinic later that year (Shuswap Chiropractic Clinic). After her third child was born, she decided to step back from ownership of the clinic but continued to operate her practice part time out of the clinic space. In early 2014 she formed Active Chiropractic in the SASCU office space with the goal of building a multidisciplinary clinic to serve her patients.
Daphne is also a competitive athlete. Her love for running, swimming and biking has led her to compete in numerous events such as the half marathons, marathons, long distance swims, triathlons and Ironman. She also loves to spend time with her family, hike, ski, knit, and read.
Doctors of chiropractic are well trained in the assessment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve conditions. A thorough history and physical exam will help determine the cause of your problem and whether your condition can be treated by chiropractic and/or massage. If further tests or imaging are needed we will work with your medical physician to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
Many musculoskeletal problems develop due to poor biomechanics which precede the onset of pain. Proper biomechanical function is also necessary for optimum sports performance and in some cases may prevent sports injuries. We can complete periodic biomechanical assessments and tune-ups to help you stay in top form.
We are located in the Uptown Askews complex, on the 2nd floor of the SASCU building (elevator available).
